At this time it is only speculation that Margaret (Goodwin?) Goodwin Crosby Corning first married Aaron Goodwin. See Margaret’s research notes for details.

While Margaret’s death date and age according to her grave marker would give an approximate birth year of 1808, according to the 1881 Census she would have been born ca 1816 as her age was given as 65. If the 1808 date is correct she would have given birth to her youngest child at the unlikely age of 47. If Margaret is the Peggy Goodwin below she would have been born ca 1813.

Margaret may be the Margaret “Peggy” Goodwin who was born in Argyle, Yarmouth Co ca 1813; dau of Jedediah and Bridget (Welsh) Goodwin who married Aaron Goodwin, son of Nathan and Abigail (Morton) Goodwin.

One source says Margaret and Aaron had two daughters: Naomi and Catherine. Unfortunately no birth or marriage dates are given nor is there a death date for Aaron.

George Brown says that Margaret Goodwin was a widow when she married Theophilus Crosby. Was Goodwin a married name? her surname at birth? or perhaps, if she is the Margaret Goodwin who married Aaron Goodwin, it’s both.
