Notes for William Stayley (Child 1)
known as Stayley
“Stayley’s original shop burned in October 1913 and some time after that he had the building that William Thurston had used as a candy factory moved directly across Highway 1 from the current location of Shore Grocery in Port Maitland. Stayley owned this property from 14 June 1873 until his death when it became the property of his son Lyndon Earl Porter who owned it until 30 April 1937.”
