James father was Edward Scott Reeves and his mother was Desire Hersey. Desire is a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tightlines.ca\" target=\"_blank\">Mayflower descendant<\/a>, so James was related to Pilgrims Doty, Howland, Soule and Standish.
