He married Hannah Porter who died in July 1871, is buried next to him and named on the same grave marker. Later in 1871 Joseph married Hannah\u2019s sister, Anne, widow of Waterman Allen who drowned at sea in 1861. Joseph and Hannah had 15 children, the youngest of whom, Emeline, married Joseph P Eldridge. She died at the age of 21 and is buried with her parents and named on the same grave marker.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Joseph is a\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.tightlines.ca\/\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Mayflower descendant<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">, being descended from Mayflower passengers: William Brewster, John Howland and John Tilley.
