Apparently he did not marry. One source says Silas was lost at sea, another says he died at sea. It would be interesting to know for sure if Silas is indeed buried in the cemetery or only commemorated on the grave marker.<\/p>\n<p>Silas was the son of Joseph R and Mary (Chute) Raymond. His mother is buried in the same cemetery near him. A brother and two sisters are named on the same grave marker as his mother. Named on the same marker as Silas are two more brothers, Abel and Herbert.<\/p>\n<p>Six months following his mother\u2019s death, Abel\u2019s father remarried. We do not know his place of burial.<\/p>\n<p>Silas\u2019s distinctive grave marker is one of only two in the Old Stones cemeteries that was made of what is often referred to as \u201cwhite bronze\u201d although the colour is blue and it\u2019s made of zinc.<\/p>\n<p>Silas is a\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.tightlines.ca\/\">Mayflower descendant<\/a>.
