Free Will Baptist Cemetery, Marker #15

(~1859-1875)

Maggie’s name appears on her grave marker with that of her mother, Abbie. She was born in Hebron about 1859 and died of diphtheria in Brookville (now Woodvale) 7 May 1859, the daughter of James and Abigail (Tedford) Higby. Her grave marker appears to say she died age 15 while her death record says 16. Maggie had at least one sibling, her brother Max, who was born about 14 years after Maggie in 1873.
