Perry, Drusilla (Cann)

Drusilla (Cann) Perry

Free Will Baptist Cemetery, Marker #36

(~1828-1884)

Drusilla was born about 1828 and died Nov 1884. Although the more common spelling of her name is Druscilla we have used the spelling used on her grave marker. She was the daughter of Harvey and Susannah (Killam) Cann. Her father is buried nearby and named on a different grave marker. Drusilla married 7 Dec 1848 Reuben Perry who is buried next to her and named on the same marker. Three of her siblings, Caroline, Isaac and Arabella are also buried in Old Stones Cemeteries.

One of Drusilla’s ancestors, through her mother, may have been William Knowlton, whose grave marker in Shelburne is among the earliest for any English settler in Nova Scotia—it simply reads “William Knowlton, 1632”.

More about Drusilla, her children, parents and family will be found in the Old Stones Family Group Sheet Index.
