Free Will Baptist Cemetery, Marker #40

(~1848-1885)

Eliza was born about 1848 and died 8 Jan 1885 at the age of 36, the daughter of Cyrus and Maria (Goudey) Parry. While her parents spelled their surname as Parry we have used Perry in this profile as that is the spelling used on Eliza’s marriage record. Eliza married John Ambrose Piper in a Baptist ceremony in Beaver River 4 June 1870. John died one year before Eliza, also at the age of 36, and is buried in the Free Will Baptist Cemetery. Eliza was buried next to him and is named on the same grave marker. We know of one child from their marriage, a son, Elmer.

Eliza is a Mayflower descendant. Through her father she is descended from Mayflower passengers John Alden and Richard Warren; through her mother she is descended from passenger William Brewster.
